Hayden family visit

One of my best friends, Candace, her husband, Nate, and their two kids- Garrett and Carlie came and stayed with us for a week. They live in Texas now and we keep trying to convince them to move back here but I don't know-it may be a useless cause! They are trying to do the same for us and it may not be as much of a useless cause since TC is in love with Austin, Texas but we are pretty settled here in Utah. Anyway, Candace and I still talk on the phone reguarly and see each other as often as we can so we have been able to maintain our friendship over the years (we met our Freshman year of college). We had a great time on their visit and are so glad they could come. It was so fun to meet their cute daughter, Carlie, for the first time as well! Some of the highlights of the trip included: pedicures for Candace and I, long talks, playing Mad Gab (sorry playing the game,Power Grid, was not a highlight for me but it probably was for Nate, Candace, and TC), going to the zoo and The Pie afterwards (so yummy), going to Thanksgiving Point, and driving down to Provo while the kids screamed the whole way in the car-just kidding, though that is a funny memory now. TC had to work while they were here so he missed out on some of the fun but he still hung out with us as much as he could. Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Random picture to have under this post but while Nate and Candace were still here, some of our good friends, Devin, Naomi and their son, Spencer were in town visting. They moved from Utah in May. So we had a little get to together at our house while they were here. It was so great to see them and we miss having them here but they will be back the end of next summer. Anyway, pictured from the left is us, then Aubrey, Tim, and their adorable daughter, Maya and Naomi, Devin and their handsome son, Spencer.

Loss ot Little Alma

On the same day that TC's grandpa passed away, my parents had to put down one of our dogs, Alma, who has been suffering with cancer for some time. (I know-sad day!) Alma came into our family when I was 13 along with Isaiah-our other dog. He was a gentle, sweet dog and he will surely be missed!

Tribute to Grandpa Burdick

On August 3rd, the day before we returned from our trip, TC's grandpa passed away. I only had the opportunity to meet him once for a few minutes at a family reunion a couple years ago but TC has more memories of him over the years. We are sadden by his loss but are glad he is no longer in pain. Our condolences go out to his wife, Peggy, and all his children, grand children, and other family members. Unfortunately, TC was not able to get work off so we could go down to the funeral in Arizona because it was right after we came back from Washington.

Montana/Washington

From July 23rd-August 4th, we spent a wonderful vacation with TC's parents, his sister, April, a his sister, Kristin, and her two cute daughters, Lexi (3) and Kaytlin (15 months). We are sorry that Kristin's husband, John, had to work and couldn't come down. Also, TC's youngest sister is also working in Alaska and his other brother is on a mission so we missed them as well. We also were able to spend time with TC's extended family in Montana including his grandma, aunts, uncles, and a few cousins. Savanna loved hanging out with her only 2 cousins, swimming, and playing outside. The weather in Montana was much warmer that years past and it was so fun to swim in the lake and hang out. We spent the first five days in Montana and then came to Washington and spent a week there. Highlights there included: boating/tubing, seeing "The Proposal" with just the girls (love that movie), playing lots of games, eating at Sherry's, going to the Playground of Dreams, going to one of TC's good friends' from high school's sister's wedding reception and catching up with him, going on a fun date with TC, and just talking and hanging out together. Savanna would say the highlights of her trip were: sunning herself on the raft in Montana, throwing a stick to a nearby dog in Montana, seeing TC's aunts' dogs, seeing dogs around the neighborhood in Washington (see a theme here?), swimming in the pool at Grandma and Grandpa's house, jumping on the trampoline, and hanging out with Lexi and Kaytlin. Anyway, we have so much fun on this trip every year and look forward to it. It is hard to believe it is already over for this year! Here are the fun pictures!
