Happy Anniversary!

7 years ago today TC and I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple! I still can't believe it has been 7 years! At the same time it feels like it has been a really long time since I was single! I am so glad I made that decision to marry TC 7 years ago! He is a wonderful, patient, loving man and I am grateful to have him. He is a great father and a hard worker. He takes great care of our family! He is my best friend. We have fun together and he is always there to listen! He accepts me as I am while still encouraging me to be my best! Anyway I'm sure that is enough mushy stuff for all of you. I love you TC! Happy Anniversary!

April Update

We have been crazy busy this month. Here is some of what we have been up to. After coming back from North Carolina and celebrating Easter we spent 6 days with TC's family in Northern Utah. TC still had to work and commuted back and forth in the evenings and spent time on the weekends with them. We had a great time with them. Savanna loved being with all her family! It was especially great to see Kristin, TC's sister, and her 3 girls since they live in Alaska and we don't get to see them very often!

Here are some fun pictures from our time together with TC's family. Sorry some of them are not very clear. I did not realize my lens was dirty.

The grandkids wearing their new pajamas they got from Grandma

Tree House Museum! This museum was awesome! The pictures I took don't even do it justice because my camera died shortly after getting there. There were so many educational and fun things there. There was a place where you could play doctor, a barn with animals, you could ride pretend horses, a fire truck, a big map, a music station, a big tree house to play in, a tent, an Oval Office, a school house etc, etc, etc. All of the different parts of the museum were very educational and focused on teaching children about different parts of history. If any of you visit Ogden I would highly recommend going to this museum if you have young children!

Story time with Aunt Marisha
Celebrating all of the April birthdays (There are 6 birthdays and 2 anniversaries to celebrate with TC and his extended family. Savanna is the only grand child on TC's side out of 5 who is not born in April!)
Opening up presents

Of course we also had to celebrate with cake (Here are all the people in TC's family with April birthdays minus Savanna. His mom, Clark, Kaytlin, April, Addison, and Lexi.)

Fun at the park
We also spent a day visiting Temple Square, the Church History Musuem (they have a cool children's exhibit area, and City Creek. City Creek is really pretty! I loved it!)

Okay he really wanted to wear the dress and dance around. I tried to get him to just wear a vest. Don't freak out TC!
Fun at the food court playground at City Creek.

So after returning from Eden. My parents came into town for a family wedding. Thursday night TC and I went out for our anniversary (which is today!). We did a sealing session at the Salt Lake Temple (the temple we were married in) and then saw a ballet called Emeralds we had tickets for. Then Friday night we went to a wedding reception for good family friends. This is the only picture I got. I know it is not very good. Ugh I wished I had noticed my lens was so dirty!

Saturday I threw a baby shower along with some other friends for my good friend, Carly. Then Saturday we also went to a graduation party for our friends. Chris (in the middle) was in town because he just received his Ph D. from BYU. Way to go Chris!

We also have been lucky to have my parents in town. My dad left Sunday but my mom will be leaving on Saturday and the kids and I are actually going with her to Florida for a week and half! Life has been crazy but good!

Clark's 2 year Stats

We took Clark to his 2 year check up a couple of weeks ago and he is doing well. He has gotten sick a lot this winter though even more than last winter. My kids ended up with bronchitis twice which they have never had before.(Savanna gets sick a lot less than she used to though.) They usually don't even get chest colds. There must have been a lot going around as far as respiratory stuff because my kids do pick up colds but they usually don't get the respiratory illnesses or have any colds go into their chest. Hopefully we will get a bit of a break over the summer and have a better winter next year. Anyway, besides getting sick with colds and such Clark is a happy, healthy, fun little boy (he is even happy most of the time when he is sick and still sleeps well!). He developmentally is doing great. He talks very well. He says more words than we can count, puts words together into sentences, jumps and runs around like crazy and is learning his shapes, numbers, and colors. The only think I cant' seem to get him to do is eat with a fork consistently! I know he can do it because he will sometimes but then he often just resorts to using his hands. He really is a mess when he eats! At least he doesn't chuck his food on the ground anymore when he is done. Anyway here are Clark's 2 year stats and I'll also leave you with some funny things Clark has done or said lately. We are sure enjoying our little 2 year old!

Weight: 32 pounds 8 ounces-95%
Height: 36"-95%
Head Circumference: 20"-95%

  • Recently Clark has renamed himself. When you asked him what his name is he will often say "Choo Choo Perry!" We are not sure where he got this from but it is pretty cute.
  • "I need a Car band aid!" (He's been obsessed with band aids lately."
  • "Kiss it!" (As he is leaning over to kiss a scratch on his lef)
  • "Gross!" (While my Mom was changing his diaper the other day and he passed gass.)
  • "I love Mommy! I love you Adasa (Savanna). I love Daddy too."
  • "Savanna! Yeah!" (He learned how to say Savanna! He says it really well too and likes getting the praise for saying it right.)
  • "Turn right there!" (To my dad when they were driving in the car the other night when they were babysitting them while they were in town.)
  • "I'm a hunk."
  • "I love Clark."
  • "Oh no see bum. No see bum." (Looking at a book where the baby is leaning over and her bum is in the middle of the picture. Savanna and him think it is hilarious.)
  • "Clark threw a fit."
  • "My cake." (At a wedding reception the other night.)
  • "Mine! Mine!" (In the middle of his sleep during a dream while he was napping yesterday).

Recent Savanna Quotes

  • "If I eat carrots I don't know whether I'll be able to see better at night."
  • "Mommy you make me smile and feel good in my heart."
  • "Why are my walls orange? That is not my favorite color. They should be blue. Then I would like to be in here more." (said to TC one day during quiet/nap time. FYI her walls are painted orange because I am a bit obsessed with orange and when we painted them she was too young to have a favorite color. Maybe I will let her decide the color of her walls someday.)
  • "Mommy you are the most beautiful woman."
  • "Today was such a fun day!" (said at the church history museum when we spent a day in Salt Lake with some of TC's family who were visiting).
  • "I love everyone in the whole world!"
  • "Grandma do you sleep in your shoes?" (Every time she had seen TC's mom she was in her shoes.)
  • "I love Daddy. I love Mommy. I love Clark. The person I love best of all though is Cricket! (Lol-TC's sister, April's, dog).
  • Background-Yesterday we were out for a walk. She wanted to walk to a nearby park. We told her we could do that but she could not play on the play ground since it was Sunday. This was her response. "I think that if we go there I will be distracted and want to play on the playground."
  • "Mommy when you make that face you look like a weird woman." (Lol-I do make this weird face when I think they do something super cute. I grind my teeth or something. It looks really weird. I have seen it in the mirror and I should really stop but it has just become a habit.)

Happy Easter!

So we had a good Easter today despite being quite tired from our trip yesterday. The kids woke up and quickly looked at their Easter baskets and then we headed off to church. Church was great and I especially enjoyed singing "His Hands" in the ward choir. The choir director started crying at the beginning of the song and it was very touching but it made it hard to get through the song without getting emotional. Then after church the kids took some nice nap, then our friend, Kristine, came over. The kids hunted for easter eggs in the side yard and then we had a nice Easter feast. Afterwards we decorated easter eggs and we read President Monson's testimony of the resurrection and watched a Mormon message online about the atonement and resurrection. It was a really nice day. I was able to reflect some today on the miracle of the resurrection and the sacrifice my Savior made for me and for all of us. I am so grateful to Him. What a wonderful message the resurrection is! I am so grateful to know that death is not the end and we all can be together again as families and friends! I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter as well!

Clark update-2 years!

Clark is 2! He celebrated his birthday this past Friday! He is turning into such a little boy! He is definitely not a little baby anymore. We love our little Clark and he has such a fun personality. His favorite things still include: cars, cars, buses, trains, dogs, babies and his sister. He is a very friendly little boy and loves to say hi to people he meets. Clark can count to 10 and is learning his colors and shapes. He is really talking up a storm now too! Clark has a lot of energy and is always moving and on the go. I call him my little rascal and he has earned that title! I recently found him eating a stranger's pizza at a bounce house when I turned my head. He has also been found dropping puzzle pieces in Savanna's humidifier, trying to clean the wood floor with the toilet bowl brush, and coloring the piano. He also is very strong willed and will tell you when he wants something and gets mad when he does not get it. Clark is also talking up a storm right now. I will leave you with some of the recent things we had heard him say. We sure love our little man!
  • "Mommy I not a princess. I a guy."
  • "Don't push me!"
  • "I need Mom!"
  • "I need Dad. Daddy at work?"
  • "I need cookie."
  • "NO Adas! (Savanna)"
  • "You hurt me."
  • "Last time!"
  • "One more time!"
  • "One more!"
  • "I a hunk."
  • "I want gum."
  • "You ok Mom?"
  • "Mommy what happened?"
  • "I two now."
  • "Clark's party-2 days!"
  • "We going to North Carolina?"
  • "Poop get out!"

Quick Trip

We got back yesterday from a quick three day trip to North Carolina. My parents, our little family, and my younger brother surprised my brother, Spenser, and flew out for his graduation. Jonathan, Savanna, Clark and I flew out Wednesday afternoon and TC took a red eye that night. Our trip out there was a lot of fun. Our traveling out there and back was a bit of a mess to say the least. On the way there my friend was supposed to take the kids, my brother and I to the airport but then my brother said we did not all fit in her car and wanted us to take his truck. So we did that. We were running late because Jonathan got stuck in traffic. We were going to do curbside check in since Jonathan had to park the car and it was going to be hard for me to get all the bags and kids in. Unfortunately US Airways did not do curbside check in. After being yelled at for being uncooperative by the US Airways man for asking a couple of questions (I'll admit I was frazzled but I was not yelling at him. Just trying to think of other options). He sent us to a lady to Southwest who helped me in while Jonathan parked the car. Jonathan mistakenly left his bag with me which I did not realize he did not want checked but was carrying it on so I paid extra to check it and then he called me and told me that he was carrying it on. The lady was nice to me and refunded me the money (I was crying at this point. I really don't like flying because it makes me nervous and all of this was just getting to me.) So I went through security by myself and Jonathan met us in there. We had 3 flights to get all the way to our destination. Our second flight was 3.5 hours long and was super bumpy. At one point they asked all of the flight attendants to sit down and only ring your call button if it was an emergency because we were experiencing severe turbulence. At this point I looked out the window and there was lightening in the sky. I don't really like seeing that or turbulence to say the least. Then the guy in front of me would turn around and glare at me any time Clark made a noise that was a tiny bit "loud" even when it was a happy noise. Then when we were waiting to get off Savanna was whining about it taking a long time. Jonathan asked me what was wrong and I said "She wants to get off like the rest of us but she is 4 and that is how she expresses it."This rude guy turned around and said sarcastically "Maybe we should all do that." I very calmly said, "You obviously don't have kids do you?" What a jerk! But anyway eventually we got there. TC got in the next morning (after working 14 hours the day before, flying overnight, and being stuck in the Charlotte airport for 4 hours because his plane was delayed because of a mechanical problem. They ended up putting him on a different flight which he was only able to do because he did not check a bag. Otherwise he would have gotten there too late to make my brother's graduation which was the whole point of the trip.)

We had a good time while we were there. Once TC got there we hurried to my brother's graduation. Then we went to a museum, ate dinner, went back to the hotel and hung out and went in the pool. Friday was Clark's birthday! We went a rock climbing wall place, got lunch at Wendy's, went to a Special Forces Museum, went in the pool again, went out to dinner and then came back to the hotel and did cake and presents. It was a really fun day. Clark seemed to have a good day too! We had carrot cake and for his birthday presents he got a Muppet Movie and dump truck from my parents, a potty book, an alphabet book, a potty dvd, three toy cars, and an electric bug from us.
Saturday my brother, TC, the kids and I flew back to Utah. Here is the other half to our flying drama. So we flew into Charlotte just fine and had a two hour layover. When we got to our gate and they were supposed to start boarding they announced that they were fixing a mechanical problem on the plane and there would be a delay. Well we only had a 35 minute layover in Phoenix so they sent us to special services to see if they could re route us. The lady I talked to said we had to stay on that plane since our baggage was there but she would put us on a back up flight leaving Phoenix at 8 p.m. (our original connecting flight left at 4 p.m.). Anyway I got back to the gate and shortly thereafter they announced that we would be switching gates and taking a new aircraft. We ended up leaving about an hour and a half after our scheduled departure and nonetheless missed our connecting flight. We ended up having a 3 hour layover instead of a 40 minute layover in Phoenix. On the bright side they did put us in first class on the last flight. On the down side Clark threw an absolute fit the last 20 minutes of the flight and after we landed because TC turned his phone off and he couldn't play with it anymore and since he is two now he had to sit in his own seat and not on our laps. (The truth is he was just totally exhausted). Then the moment that just topped it all was when we were waiting to get off the plane and Clark is still crying. I hear a lady a few people behind say quietly "Get that screaming kid off of here." (probably thinking I wouldn't hear her. Actually I don't even think she knew I was the mom because there was a few people in between Savanna and I and TC and Clark). You know I am a nice person but I can be a bit fiesty sometimes especially when I am super stressed or you mess with my kids. I turned around to her and said "He has been flying for 14 hours. You could have a little bit more compassion." She just gave me this deer in the head lights look! I think she was shocked I heard her. But then I admit I took it a little bit farther. She was standing against the wall when I came out of the bathroom from changing Clark's diaper after we got off the plane and I looked at her and said, "You should be ashamed of yourself!" On a good day I wouldn't have said that! I just don't understand how people can be so rude and so inconsiderate with people with children! Obviously we all wished he wasn't crying!!!! But give us a break!! A couple of sweet men came up to us and told us how hard they know it is and that we were doing a good job. One man said he had 10 kids! Anyway but we got home around midnight and the kids actually woke up on their own a little after 8 and we made it to 9:00 church. What an exhausting few days! It was worth it though to be there to support my brother and spend time with my family.
