Clark update-4 months

So our little guy is growing fast!! He is now a little over 4 months and is such a fun little guy. He smiles and coos a bunch and loves to be held and in on all the family activity. He has rolled over from his belly to his back three times and is so close to rolling from his back to his stomach. He loves to put anything and everything in his mouth. We gave him rice cereal about a week ago and he is already a pro at it! He loves it! Savanna loves to feed him as well. We took him to his 4 month check and he is still a big baby! But his height has now surpassed his weight. He still has not started sleeping through the night again..we are hoping the solid foods help with that. I don't know if he is actually hungry or just in the habit now of waking up. He did sleep through the night a couple of times in the past few weeks but not consistently. Hopefully he will start doing it again soon! Here are his stats: Weight: 18 pounds 4 ounces-98% Height: 27 inches-Off the charts Head circumference: 17 inches-80%

Savanna Update-2 years 8 months

So I was a bit negative about Savanna in our last post. Maybe I should not blog when I'm in a bad mood. Though it is sometimes good to vent right? Anyway, Savanna is still our cute little girl and we love having her around. She has not been as difficult as that one week but she does still have her moments. We are learning how to deal with it better though as we go. We have made going to bed more fun now by playing games so that has helped. Savanna is now a pro at going to the potty though she will not go usually if we ask her only when she wants to. For some reason she has decided that she wants to go whenever we are in public so we have frequented many restrooms in the last few weeks. It does not bother me that much until she looks at me after I take her and says, "I don't want to go." Last week at The Olive Garden I took her to the bathroom 4 times and she only actually peed once. GRRR. Savanna also has learned the word "wedgie" and uses it frequently when her underwear gets stuck where she does not want it be me. Savanna is loving Clark a lot more and loves to sing songs to him and play with him. But still occasionally enjoys swatting him or throwing toys at him. Whenever she triest to hurt Clark she automatically goes to time out. Savanna has also been dressing herself quite a bit and brushing her teeth herself (though TC or I will do it again to make sure they are getting clean). Savanna's imagination has been going wild lately and she loves to pretend-though sometimes her pretending makes her scared. Last week she came out her bed a few minutes after putting her down and told us an alligator had bit her face. Another time she told us that the screws on her bed were bugs. We will often just be doing something and she will run abruptly away and say "Somebody's coming." When I ask her who is coming she usually says "An alligator" or "a dinosaur". Sometimes the animals are friendly and sometimes they are scary. Savanna did get another ear infection this month so I think I'm done with the antibiotics and doctor's visits. I think we will be scheduling ear tubes for her next month.

Hot Air Balloon Ride!

So some of you may remember my pessimistic post a few weeks ago about how TC had planned a night at the Homestead Resort and a hot air balloon ride for a surprise late anniversary gift and how everything went wrong that week for it not to work out. Anyway, we did end up going on our hot air balloon ride this past Wednesday morning while my mom was still here and was able to watch the little ones. Thanks Mom! We decided that we would split it up and stay the Homestead another night. Anyway, we had a great time despite having to get up at 4:30 in the morning to meet at the hotel where the bus was picking us up. I was a bit nervous I must be honest to launch myself into a hot air balloon but it actually was not very scary. It was super smooth and it was beautiful to look over Midway and Heber. We didn't end up landing where the guy who was flying it was planning on but he says that happens a lot. Just as long as we landed right.. Anyway, it was a great anniversary gift. TC also surprised me with a pair of orange sapphire earrings at the end of our date. What a great guy-the best decision I made was marrying him. I was a bit confused for awhile but he was patient and waited for me. Anyway, here are some fun pictures from our date.

Family Visit

My parents were in town when we got back from Washington because they were here for the wedding of one of their good friends' daughters so it was nice to be able to spend some time with them. My dad was only here for a couple of days but my mom was able to stay for a week (after we got back-she was here for a week while we were still in Washington). We had fun visiting, getting treated to dinner, going to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point, etc. We love going to see family and having them visit as well. It is always sad when it comes to an end but we look forward to the next time! Unfortunately I forgot my camera like everywhere we went or the batteries were dead but my mom took a lot of pictures so I will post those later.

Loss of a great friend

One of TC's best friends from high school, Mike, was killed in a scuba diving accident on July 27th. TC also kept in contact with Mike after high school so he was very upset by this news. It was quite a shock to us and TC's family and friends in Washington. I had the opportunity to meet Mike and his wife on several occasions. We were able to attend their wedding reception and stayed at their house in Idaho once and they stayed at our house as well once or twice. He will definitely be missed greatly. Our prayers are with his family especially his wife and their little girl and also their son who is on the way. I can't even imagine the grief she is experiencing but I hope she finds comfort in knowing that many are praying for her and thinking of her. As I mentioned in my previous post we left Montana early to attend a memorial service for Mike in Washington on Saturday, July 31st. TC's dad who is a bishop conducted the service and did a wonderful job. Mike will be remembered with love always.

Montana/Washington Trip

So we were able to go on our annual trip to Montana and Washington with TC's family this year. We were missing TC's brother, James, who is on a mission and his sister and her family but we still had a good time. It was a lot of driving which was challenging at times with two kids but they did ok overall. TC spent a lot of time in the back seat keeping Clark happy ( I get really car sick if I am in the back so I drove most of the way). We drove on Thursday, July 29th, to Montana and did not get in until almost eleven. It normally takes us about 10 hours to get there and it took close to 14. We were going to stay in Montana until Sunday but our trip was cut short for a very sad reason that I will explain in the next post. We ended up only staying until Friday evening and then heading out for the 7 hour drive to Washington. Savanna was able to take a canoe out on the lake, swim a bit, take a nap, visit TC's grandma and some of her extended family on the way out of town and then we were off. Anyway, we did have a lot of fun in Washington. It is always great to go and just be able to relax. Highlights included going to this awesome huge Playground, boating, and Savanna would say jumping on the trampoline. Anyway, here are some fun pictures from our trip.

Update

So it has been a busy last couple of weeks. I feel like I have a lot to recap. We've gone out of town, had family visits, and done a lot of fun stuff. Oh and our good friends, Carly and Derek had their baby girl, Paisley a few weeks ago. Congratulations to them! Paisley is adorable! Anyway, so I think I will post all the different events to try to keep it all straight so here it goes. Enjoy!
