And it continues..

So yeah I've had a nasty cold and turns out I have strep throat as well. Today we also took Savanna to the doctor because she has had some goop and redness in her eyes and she has pink eye. Also the stomach flu went through TC's ENTIRE family. The only person that did not get it was one of his sister's (and maybe she still will-who knows?). It is really sad too because TC's sister got it while they were still here in Utah but then her husband, John, and their two daughters got it on their drive down to Arizona for John's brother's wedding. So miserable! We feel so bad because we tried really hard not to expose anyone until we thought we weren't sick anymore. We aren't sure if it all came from us but we still feel bad. And my family is in town right now and my mom got the stomach flu as well and my dad has a sinus infection. Wow!! When will it end?

Christmas from You Know Where

So yeah if you didn't feel bad enough for us after the last post here you go. TC had a cold this whole week and a sore throat so ended up going to the doctor on Wednesday and was diagnosed with strep throat. So he got on antibiotics but it takes 24 hours for it to be totally effective and for you not to be contagious. So we were supposed to meet up with his family that night at a house they are renting for the weekend but we didn't want to get them sick so we held out. Anyway, so about 6 o'clock Christmas Eve morning I woke up feeling really sick. Ended up with the stomach flu-seemed like the same one that Savanna got. I don't want to gross anyone else but I have never been so sick in my whole life. It was so bad. I couldn't keep anything down for about 6 hours and I got nervous and TC called my OB and they said if she continues doing that all day they would have to take me to the hospital to get an IV to hydrate me. But in the later afternoon I started feeling a bit better and was able to keep fluids down. TC was feeling terrible the whole day from his strep throat so his family was nice enough to take Savanna for the day (she felt better at this point). It was a really sad Christmas Eve though to be lying in bed by myself. (TC got me some drinks and stuff but was trying to stay away because he didn't want to get the stomach flu on top of his strep throat/cold). Anyway, Christmas Day I was feeling a bit better as far as the stomach flu but woke up feeling like I have a cold which I do have officially now. Anyway, but we felt good enough to head over to the house where TC's family was and see our little girl! Christmas morning was kind of sad though because Savanna seemed like she was not feeling super well and was kind of sad and tired. She did have diarrhea twice and seemed to feel better after that so we think her sickness was still working out of her system. Today she seemed to be feeling better and was running all around but was really moody and threw a couple fits (which she doesn't do too often). TC was supposed to go to work today but called in sick because he still wasn't feeling totally over his sickness. Then about 10:00 he threw up! So yeah now he is in bed with the stomach flu! This definitely was a Christmas to remember but not in a good way. How was your Christmas?

Happy Birthday to Savanna-wait make that sad, sick day to Savanna!

So today was Savanna's birthday. She is two years old! We still can't believe that so much time has flown by. So the day started out great. We got up, gave Savanna breakfast in bed and showed her the two year movie we prepared for her (a slide show of pictures from the past year set to music-we are planning on doing a video for all of our children each year until they are eighteen. We will see how that goes). Anyway, then we headed to Build-a-Bear. She had a great time picking out a bear. She essentailly wanted one of the first ones she spotted who was wearing a tutu (what a princess she is!). Anyway, she loved giving her bear a heart and went back to give her bear a bath about 10 times! Then she wanted to go to "Donald's (McDonald's) so we got her a happy meal and she got to play on the play area for a little while. After that we took her home to get a nap. So an hour and a half later she woke up and I got her up and she was not happy. We took her downstairs and started to feed her a snack and she threw up. She then would be happy for a little while and then it seemed like she didn't feel well again. She ended up throwing up 8 times over the next 4 hours. I called the nurses and she said to keep an eye on her and keep her hydrated but drinking seemed to make her throw up (though it was very little because there was nothing in her stomach). Anyway, TC made an icecream cake for her birthday and we had invited family over to watch her open her presents and it all kind of fell apart. My parents who are in town and my brother didn't come up in case it was a stomach flu but TC's mom and sisters still stopped by. However, Savanna did not even make it through all her presents and there are still 4 sitting waiting to be opened tomorrow. It was so sad to see her sick. She has never thrown up that many times and to be on her birthday. It just stinks! We are hoping she will just sleep it off and feel better in the morning but I will keep you all posted. To top things off TC has a bad cold and is not feeling very well so he is planning on calling in sick to work tomorrow so he can try to get better. Miracously, me being pregnant with the weakened immune system am feeling fine. Hopefully it stays that way and TC and Savanna will feel better and we can enjoy Christmas especially since we have a lot of family in town! We still don't know if Savanna has food poisoning or a stomach bug. We just hope she gets better soon and we stay healthy as well. Anyway, sad birthday huh? Any of you out there ever had sad birthdays? Or your children have had sad birthdays? But here are some pictures of her happy times today. Nonetheless today not being a great day, we have had so many wonderful moments and memories with Savanna over this past year and we are so grateful to have her as our daughter. She is such a precious little girl and the joy of our lives. Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Motherhood Mood Swings?

So gosh, any of you ever feel a little bipolar when it comes to motherhood? One day you are euphoric thinking "Being a mother is the greatest thing in the world. I love it so much!" And then the next day you think, "What on earth have I done to myself?" Some days I also feel like "I am a good mom. I spend a lot of time with Savanna. I take good care of her." Then it could be the very next day I'll think "I am a piece of crap mom. I got frustrated with her today. I need to be better." It is amazing the roller coaster of emotions that I have experienced since becoming a mother. Mostly good emotions but not all. Now I am having similar emotions regarding having a second child. One day I'll think it is going to be great. I'll love having a little newborn baby again who is so sweet and small. Then the next day I'll think "A newborn? No, please don't put me through that again!" Some days the thought of sleepless nights doesn't seem so bad and the next day I think there is no way I'll be able to handle it. One day I think it won't be so bad to get two kids out of the house and other times I think that I will never get to go anywhere!! So is this normal? Do others of you experience these same emotions? And did I mention that in the middle of this post I got interrupted because Savanna poured nail polish remover all over herself and the floor? I guess that is partially my fault. I usually keep it out of reach. I must have left it out the last time I used it. Anyway, she did have some cute moments today though despite her being rather difficult. She has become more maternal lately. She now puts her baby doll down for a nap, changes her baby's diaper, and takes care of her "owies". Here baby is pictured below fully diapered with a band aid on her toe.

Savanna's birthday party

So we had a little early birthday party for Savanna on Wendesday night at McDonald's. It was a lot of fun. Savanna had a blast and did not want to leave after the festivities were over. There was a lot of people that could not make it for various reasons but there still were several of Savanna's little friends and their parents (our friends) there along with her aunts and uncle. She even managed to get several gifts even though I put "No Gifts Expected." on her invitation. Spoiled girl! She has been having a blast playing with the fun stuff she got ever since ( play doh, the memory game, a spikey ball, walking around in her snow boots, and sitting at her new table and chairs). Anyway, it was so fun to watch Savanna run around the play area in her tutu and then make herself a princess sheet with stickers and stamps and eat her princess cake. Thanks to everyone for coming. Here are some of the pictures I took from my camera but stay tuned for more from my sister-in-law's camera. She took a lot more!

November Update-Wedding, Thanksgiving and more!

Okay so here is what we have been up to the last couple of weeks. First of all, my parents came out for a wedding of a close family friend the weekend before Thanksgiving. This family joined the Church a few years ago and became close to our family. They flew out for TC's and I's wedding even though they had not been members long enough to go to our sealing! It was a fun day and I was able to attend the sealing in the Salt Lake temple, the wedding dinner, and reception with my family. Thanks to TC's sisters, April and Marisha, for watching Savanna all day. Congratulations to the happy couple, Veronica and Scott!

My mom, me, Stephanie, and Gaye (some friends from Florida-sorry this one is really blurry)

So then just two days later we headed out to Florida for Thanksgiving at my Grandpa's farm. We had a great time and it was fun to spend time with extended family we don't get to see very often. Savanna loved petting my Grandpa's horse, jumping on the hay bales and playing with a cousin's dog. The trip home was a bit stressful-turbulent flights which make me VERY nervous (Savanna actually fell and hit her head on the arm rest during one of the flights), Savanna screaming for a bit because her ear hurt (we took her to the doctor the day we left and she had a bad ear infection from a cold) and Savanna pooping 5 times that day, three of which were diarrhea (we think it was because she got a lot of Gatorade from my family on the trip. No more of that). The last time it got on TC's hand and we had run out of diapers so we had to buy some at the airport (thank goodness it happened there and not on the plane). Anyway, but it was worth it to go see family!

Since coming back, we've been going non stop and getting ready for Christmas! We started off Monday by going out to dinner with some friends and seeing New Moon! I thought the movie was quite good and am so Team Jacob now. But I remember feeling that way when reading the books and then when I read Eclipse I totally switch back to liking Edward. Jacob was super annoying in the third book. But I just feel so bad for Jacob when he is begging Bella not to go after Edward. Oh, it just breaks my heart! Anyway, then I got my Christmas cards out this week and we got the house and tree decorated! We also went to the Festival of Trees with some friends. I love going there every year! For those that have never gone I highly recommend it. The trees are awesome and all the proceeds from the sales go to Primary Children's Medical Center I believe. Anyway, Happy Holidays everyone! The tree!
