Tuesday morning, Ashley started having signs that she might be starting labor that day. Soon after her contractions started to get more and more consistent. She was able to hang out with her mother and Savanna while she waited for the contractions to get closer together. In time, I ended up leaving early from work to get her to the hospital. After ~3 hours of labor in the hospital, Clark was born last night (April 6th) at 9:51pm. As the banner says, he was 8 lb 8 oz and 20 1/2 inches. When we arrived, Ashley was dilatated to 6cm so the nurse called her OB. When she arrived, Ashley had fully dilatated. Her OB broke her water, Ashley pushed a couple times to get him to crown, then 10 min later, he was out with only a 1st degree tear to repair. If Ashley's water had broken sooner, he probably would have been born earlier. He has been feeding really well and moves his head quite a bit for a little guy his age. He was born 5 days before his due date so they are monitoring his glucose levels since he was bigger than expected for his gestational age. He seems pretty chill - doesn't cry much and seems quite content once he's fed. Things have gone alot smoother than we expected. Savanna was really excited to see him today and seems to understand pretty well what has taken place. Even though she had to wear a mask since she has been sneezing and coughing, she still had a good time holding him and talking about he was "out of Mommy's tummy." Thanks to Ashley's mom and my sister, April who have been watching Savanna, bringing things to us, lending moral support, and taking pictures. The hospital photographer came in and we're like, "no thank you my sister is a professional photographer." We have been blessed and are grateful to all those who have prayed for us and little Clark throughout this pregnancy. Thanks! Here a few pictures we managed to take...
