Clark's Birthday Party/Conference Weekend

So we had a fun past weekend. We had a birthday party for Clark on Friday night with a Cars (the movie) theme. There were a lot of people that could not come because of sickness or being out of town but thank you to all of our friends and family that did come. Special thanks to my friend, Ashley, to for taking most of these pictures! We had a really fun time and Savanna and Clark had been looking forward to this party for a couple of weeks. Savanna kept telling him how many days until the party and he would repeat to himself, "Party 2 days!" Anyway, here are some fun pictures.

Some presents for Clark
Evan and Perry enjoying some cake(TC's cousins' kids)
Singing "Happy Birthday!"
Clark was of course very excited to eat his cake.
I splurged and got a cars pinata. The kids had a lot of fun with it. No one really was able to break it though so we just pulled the strings (apparently this pinata is designed just to pull the strings, what do I know?)
Donovan decked out for the party.
Playing Freeze Dance (Don't you love TC's Mitt Romney Super Fan shirt?)
Sisters:Elle and Addie
Then TC's sisters,April and Marisha, and their husbands, Grant and Forrest, were in town Friday night through Saturday evening. We had fun visiting with them, playing games, walking around the lake, and watching conference. What a great couple of days of conference too. I loved all the talks but my favorite talk was Elder Scott's talk on revelation. Oh and how could I forget Savanna and Clark also loved playing with April and Grant's bird-Narcissus? I really can't remember how to spell or pronounce his name. He is a smart bird though. He even poops on command.now that is talent.
Savanna and Clark having a pretend snack during conference.
April, Clark and bird hanging out.
Grant, April, and Savanna

Hunger Games

Charity, me, and Marthe with our Hunger Game shirts on (hard to see but they have the mocking jay symbol on them. Charity is obsessed with these books so I wore the shirt for her. She made them)
So Friday night TC and I went on a triple date to the Hunger Games. Confession: I've never read the books and honestly I did not really like the movie. I found it severely disturbing and I just did not like watching kids kill each other. It actually infuriated me that something like this could happen and no one has been able to STOP it!! The total disregard for human life shown by the Capitalists disgusted me!! TC said that you have to read all of the books and there is a good ending but I don't know whether I will. What am I not getting? Everyone I know is obsessed with this story and I really don't get it. It is just gross to me. No offense to all of you friends and family that think it is great! I know that all of you that love it are disturbed by it too but I just don't have a desire to watch something like that ever again. Also the romance did not pull me in at all. Maybe that has something to do with the face that Gail is WAY HOTTER than Pita!

Fun Lately

Here are just some fun recent pictures.
Playing on the playground
Duck, Duck, Goose
Clark after being buried with toys by Savanna (apparently he must like this game judging from the smile on his face).
Reading time (Clark loves reading books lately especially when Savanna reads to him.)
Dinner out at the Olive Garden
Helping in the yard
Making Saint Patrick's Day cookies

Little Toys

So Savanna plays with her princesses, Zubbles (spelling), squinkies, and Pet Shop just about every day. Is anyone else's little girls obsessed with these microscopic toys! Sometimes I wonder what people were thinking when they made them so small but they must know what they were doing because little girls seem to be obsessed with these little toys. Savanna would much rather play with her little princesses and squinkies right now than her bigger barbie and princess dolls. I just am kind of crazy about her not losing them! And when she plays with them they get everywhere!! She does a good job of keeping account of them though. We have a place for all of them and she always returns her squinkies to their container. She even hasn't lost her microscopic princess shoes for the Disney princess set that we got her. This set also includes microscopic gloves, broom, dish scrubber, flowers, basket, etc, etc. Gotta love little girls!

Sweet Savanna

The other day after we got back from gym classes Savanna really wanted to draw pictures for a couple of her friends that live nearby-Sadie and Lileigh. It was so cute to see her take time and really put a lot of effort into her pictures. She put stickers on them and drew pictures of her holding hands with her friends. She also wrote their names on them and signed it Love, Savanna. It warms my heart to see her showing service and love to others and to have these special bonds with her friends. We, of course, had to deliver them right after and now are pleased to hear that these pictures are being cherished by her friends and Lileigh hung her picture up on the refrigerator.

More Savanna Quotes

Ugh, it is has been a rough week. Clark had bronchilatis and is doing better now but now Savanna is sick with croup. She has been healthy for awhile so I guess I should not complain I just hate hearing her cough and having to keep them isolated. Poor little things! Anyway I decided to post a few Savanna quotes to cheer me up.

  • "Mommy after I'm 4 I'll be 5, then 6,7,8,9,10,11 and then 12! And then I will be a missionary."
  • (While going into Wal Mart and I was not wearing a coat.) Me: "Savanna put your coat on please." Savanna: "No Mommy. Kids follow their mommies and daddies and you are not wearing a coat so I am not wearing one. Kids look to their mommies and daddies about what to do."
  • Me: "You kids are so cute." Savanna:"Yes but we will grow up and then we will never be cute again."
  • "Kids love their moms more when they are sick."
  • "I miss my dad."

And here is a couple funny things Clark has said lately. I love how much he wants to be like Savanna and anything she says or does he says Clark (whatever it is) too!"

  • (When Clark combs his hair) "Hair crazy!"
  • "I miss Dad too."
  • "I want cheese too."
  • "Like mine too?"
  • "Dance Cars first." (when we have dance parties he always wants us to put Cars on to dance to first.

Love these kids! Even when they are sick they are usually happy and still a lot of fun.
