My Grandpa Passing

My Grandpa passed away on August 10th,2015. I was very close to him and my Nana who passed away in 2004. I wrote a very long tribute and memories of him that I decided not to share here but just wanted to say he was the best Grandpa ever and I miss him. I'm so glad for the knowledge that one day I will be able to see him again!

Recent Kids' Quotes

I haven't done this in awhile. I need to write them down more. Gotta love the funny, cute things these kids say.

Savanna
  • "Ethan,my love, moved to Arizona."
  • Me:"Grandpa doesn't have any brothers." Savanna:"But he has a lot of spiritual sisters."
  • "I am the only person in my class who is not baptized that has their own scripture case." (She is so excited she got her own scripture case this weekend.)
  • "I want to kiss Ethan."

Clark
  • "Let's pretend that we're in love."
  • "I wish I could marry three girls in my class when I grow up." Savanna:"You are not allowed to have three wives Clark."
  • "Let's pretend that we're skiing!"
  • "Let's pretend, etc, etc"-He loves to pretend.

Linnea
  • "Don't shake your bum in my face Clark. That is inappropriate."
  • "You frustrated Mommy?"
  • "You happy Mommy? You BIG Happy?" (She is always so concerned about my feelings it's so sweet. If I seem upset she doesn't like that.)
  • "Clark is being nice to me."
  • "I love my Momma. My Momm is so cute."
  • "Where is my sister?"
  • "My brother is being nice to me."
  • Me:"Linnea it's time to go take a bath." Linnea:"Are you taking a bath with me?" Me:No I'll just watch you and wash you." Linnea:"Ok because that would be inappropriate."
  • "Are you concentrating Mommy?"
  • "I am cute and weird."

Mommy/Son Date

TC and I try to do dates with our kids every month. Last Tuesday Clark and I went to a Mommy/Son Date at Chick fil a and had a lot of fun. We ate dinnner, got some pictures taken with some cool props and costumes, Clark was made a knight by the cow at Chick fil a,and we got ice cream sundaes, saw a magic show and watched some fencing classes. So cute and fun!

Savanna's Fun Late Over

Savanna has been wanting me to have a "late over" with a few of her friends for awhile so I finally said ok. So a couple of weeks ago she had 5 friends over for pizza, making necklaces, watching a movie and playing in their pajamas. They all had a great time!

Clark's First Day of Kindergarten

Wow I am really behind in updating on Clark's first day of kindergaten. His first day was August 4th and he has been loving kindergarten. Still can't believe he's old enough for kindergarten! He is making new friends and having a great time and is doing very well. This last Friday he got to have a Teddy Bear Picnic where he brought a sack lunch, his favorite stuffed animal and a blanket. So fun!!

Baby chicks!

TC and I have always said we're not pet people but TC really wanted to get baby chicks mostly for fresh eggs when they become chickens. I thought about it for a couple of days and decided to try it out. So he brought home 6 baby chicks on Friday he bought from a lady he works with. They are actually super cute and we are enjoying them so far. They are not too much work and the kids are loving holding them. We won't know the gender of the chicks until they're about 2 months and we'll have to sell or give away the male ones because we are not allowed to have roosters in our city because they are too noisy. It'll be fun to see how many are girls and how many are boys. TC will also have to build or buy a chicken coop. We can put them in a coop when they're about 2 months old. Should be a fun adventure!!

School Days!

With year round school Savanna started second grade last Monday,July 27th. She is enjoying it so far. She is in a portable which I wasn't super excited about but she thinks it's cool. I am confident she'll do great! Clark also starts kindergarten tomorrow! He had his interview/assessment with his teacher and since it seems like hardly anyone looks at my blog anymore I feel like I can brag on her about him since this is my personal journal. Clark got a perfect score-102 on his kindergarten reading assessment(Savanna did as well!), he's reading at a D or E which is a first grade level and he got every question right on his Math assessment as well. He is so excited to start kindergarten tomorrow! He's been counting down since about day 80 and I can't believe it's here! I'm a bit sad about it but excited for him. And grateful he's starting at half day because full day seems so long! Can't believe that will be the case next year when he goes to first grade! Anyway here's some cute pictures of Savanna on her first day of school and Clark after his kindergarten interview.
