Clark's sneaky molars

So the other night Clark was crying really hard because we were babysitting our friends' 2 kids and their son who is a year old wanted me to hold him all the time and would cry whenever I put him down. He did not want anything to do with TC. Anyway Clark got very jealous and wanted me to hold him and give him my undivided attention. He started crying really hard while I was holding our friends' son and TC was changing his diaper and putting his pajamas on. Anyway while his mouth was wide open TC said, "Come over here and look. His top molars have broken through!" So I looked and sure enough there they are. I just have to chuckle that we did not even any have idea that he got his molars. No fussiness, no waking up in the middle of the night. Gotta love my kids! They sleep through just about anything. (Sorry I hope none of you are hating me right now. They do have some habits that are sometimes challenging.)

Circus

So TC got a groupon for the circus last Wednesday and then realized that he worked that night so we took Kristine with us and had a great time! It was put on by Piccadilly and was more geared to kids than the last circus we went to. Savanna's favorite part of the night was the elephants. We ended the evening with going to The Olive Garden for dinner since I had a gift card there. Thanks again Kristine for going with us. We had a blast!

Recent Savanna Quotes

*This girl cracks us up!

  • "Mommy this yogurt is good for me. It has good bacteria." (She learns about all this bacteria stuff from her scientist father).
  • (As we are getting in the car to leave the pumpkin patch) Me: "Wow we got some good pumpkins. But you guys are my little pumpkins." Savanna (in a very firm tone): "We are not pumpkins. We are a person. We are not pumpkins at all!"
  • (While April, TC's sister, was putting her to bed while babysitting this past Saturday night) April: "I'm going to Alaska for a little while to be closer to Jesus. " Savanna: "I just don't know whether heaven is that close to Alaska."
  • (While driving in the car) "Mommy when April is in Alaska what is she going to do without me?"
  • (Before heading to the pumpkin patch) "Are we going to the pumpkin station?"
  • "Mommy I am a kid now but I will be a grown up in 2 days."
  • "Mommy I want a little sister. When you have another baby she will stay in your stomach for 10 days. Mommy maybe you will have two babies in your tummy (I really wish she would stop saying that...)
  • While playing a song on the piano "This is a happy song. This song is saying 'I love my brother.'"
  • (While driving in the car today we were going to drop off a card and little present at the door step of my good friend who works. Anyway this led to a discussion of how Mommy used to go to school and she used to work. I told her how I used to work at an adoption agency and explained a little bit about what adoption is.) I then asked her if she understood what adoption is and she replied, "Yes. Were all those babies in your tummy?"

Pumpkin Patch

So we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch on Monday night. We had a great time. I really do love this time of year! I just love the holidays! (Yes Nate (Candace's husband) I can hear you making fun of me right now!-lol) This place where we go to is so fun because they have a hay ride, a small corn maze and even some animals. The kids had a great time especially Savanna. She just gets into everything and gets excited about going and doing fun family activities. I wonder who she gets that from...at least some of my good traits are rubbing off on her.
Coloring one of her pumpkins after we got home. (TC and I are not into the whole cutting the jack-o-lantern thing-imagine that? I'm just so good at making things look artistic and beautiful. Haha-just kidding. Maybe when she is older and realizes that all her friends have cooler pumpkins than her we will succumb and actually make a jack-o-lantern but for now she is totally content with coloring her pumpkins.)
Picking out the perfect pumpkins (We ended up getting two good size ones and three little ones.)
Going on a hay ride
Riding on the tractors

Clark's First day of Nursery

So with Clark being 18 months old now he attended nursery for the first time this past Sunday (though TC did take him for a few minutes a couple of weeks ago). Anyway, he loved it! I stayed there for a couple minutes just to see how he was doing and he went off and happily played with the other kids and with all the toys. So I snuck out and peaked through the window at him a couple of times and he was doing fine. It is nice to be able to attend my classes without any kids with me but I was a bit sentimental about my baby being old enough for nursery!! And he was quite the entertainer in Sunday school and Relief Society (saying cars through the whole closing prayer one day in Sunday school and going up and trying to pull the table cloth off in the Relief Society room repeatedly...those are just a couple of examples). But anyway when we picked him up the teachers said he did great and when we asked him how he liked nursery he just kept saying "cars, cars" over and over again. Apparently he played with cars! We love our little boy. He is growing up so fast but we will try to enjoy our kid free time in our classes at church while we can until the next little one comes along (again no big announcement yet but I will at least tell you that we do want to have 1-2 more kids. I'm stuck between having 3 or 4 kids. Both sound like a lot to me!)

Clark update-18 months

(Savanna took this picture.)
So Clark is a year and a half. Crazy. I know I say this almost every time I do an update but seriously where does the time go? Clark is a joy to have in our family and we love our little man! He is so happy and it is so easy to make him laugh. He laughs and giggles every day and it is so fun. He continues to say lots of words and is starting to put more words together and try to form more complete thoughts. Last night he said "cup juice" and today he told me "more cheese" for the macaroni and cheese. Some of his new favorite words are garage, noodles, and Cricket. He has really been into saying uh oh lately too and will always say "bye bye" to everyone we see. He also likes to use the word no or shake his head vigorously from side to side when he does not want something. He also will respond yes to questions sometimes which is really cute. He loves to tell us what Savanna does and will imitate her all the time. He thinks she is just hilarious. It is fun to watch them interact. He is very good at following commands and will say or do just about anything you ask him to. He seems to understand quite a bit because when we tell him to do something he seems to know what to do. We have also noticed that his concentration and focus have increased over the past month. He actually will sit now for more than 5 seconds with a toy or a book. He loves to play with his Lego blocks, his cars and his puzzles. Clark still loves music and loves to sing and dance. Clark also started taking music class this month and seems to be enjoying that though he is much more observant that I thought. He more watches and listens than participates. Savanna comes as well and she was like this as a baby but now she participates and sings and dances.
So I did end up taking Clark to his 18 month check up yesterday because I had some time in the morning and he is doing well. Here are his stats. He is still really big!
Weight: 29 pounds 12 ounces-97%
Height: 35 inches-Off the charts
Head Circumference: 19.5 centimeters (or is it inches-I can't remember-lol)-95%
We love our little Clark!!

Conference Weekend

So we had a good weekend with my family for conference. We spent the weekend at my parents' town home and it was nice to relax and get away even if it was just for a couple days. It was the first time we got to see my brother, Jonathan, since his mission and it was great to see him. He looks and acts more mature but I still see him as my little brother walking around in his cowboy boots while carrying his favorite basketball and blanket.. Anyway my cousin Michael and his son Vincent also came down for a visit from Idaho along with Jonathan's friend, Rose. So I didn't take too many pictures but here's a few.

Helping with breakfast
Playing with Uncle Jonathan
Savanna, Kristine, and my Mom (We had some cake to celebrate Kristine's (my brother, Spenser's fiance, and my Mom's birthday that were both this week.)
Watching Despicable Me with Papa
TC and my Dad were nice enough to make us all breakfast. (Savanna helped too).
Jonathan and Vincent eating the mud pies at Red Robin. They are HUGE!! And they finished them.
