I love that my little girl loves me!!

So just have to share how precious Savanna was the other night. It apparently started out by me traumatizing her but ended with me feeling so loved and valued as her mommy! So my friend, Andrea, wanted to go to a gardening class Thursday night but TC was working later that night and children were not allowed at the class. Anyway, I called her up to tell her that I would not be able to come because TC wouldn't be home in time to watch Savanna. Anyway, she is so nice and insisted that I bring Savanna over to her house and she could play with her little girl who is about 18 months. It would only be for about an hour. Anyway, she has been over there a couple times before and I thought she would be fine. Aparently not. She was ok for maybe about 15 minutes and then told Andrea's husband that she was ready to go, put her coat on and started to put her shoes on and asked, "Is Mommy coming?" When he told her not yet she got very upset and kept crying for Mommy over and over again. Well TC got home before my class was over and picked her up and I got home just a little bit later. Anyway, when I got home she was absolutely ecstatic. She kept hugging me, kissing me, and saying "Mommy's home!" Mommy's here!" It was really sweet. Then the next morning she told me about 3 times "Savanna was crying for Mommy. Savanna needed her mommy." It warmed my heart. At the same time, I don't know why she is kind of going through this separation anxiety thing, she is usually fine with other people but it still helped me feel loved. (She has not really been around my friend's husband without us there so that could have something to do with it.) Also, we took Savanna to Disney on Ice last night and she had a great time. There was a Princess pre-show and the ice show was awesome. She especially loved seeing Nadar from "Cars" and Ariel. Here are some pictures from the event.

Happy Birthday TC!

Well TC celebrated his let's just say birthday this past Saturday. (We are still young but getting to the point where maybe we don't broadcast our age as much. You can probably figure out how old he is just by checking out his birthday post from last year.) Anyway, we had a good day. TC did work for about 8 hours and got home around 3:00 p.m. Then we hung out for a bit and he opended his present "(The Hidden Christ"-it is supposed to be really good) and enjoyed some cherry icecream. We then headed to the Smokehouse to meet up with a group of family and friends. That was a lot of fun. They have like the greatest birthday coupon ever. TC got a free meal, soda, and a dessert and if you have 10 or more people you get 10% off the whole group so that was nice for everyone that was there. It was great to visit and TC's sister, Marisha. suprised us by driving down from Idaho for the evening. That was great! Afterwards TC and I headed to see "Alice in Wonderland" in 3d while Savanna hung out with her uncle and aunts. "Alice in Wonderland" was entertaining but a little trippy. I swear he was smoking something when he wrote it. It actually is not the original "Alice in Wonderland" but rather a story based on Alice returning to Wonderland. That is all I will say about it so I don't spoil it.
Anyway, TC seemed to have a fun birthday! I am grateful for him and everything he does for our family! Unfortunately, I brought our camera to our birthday festivities but realized on the way to the Smokehouse that I put in dead batteries. Smart! So I don't have any pictures really which I am sad about except a few here of TC reading the cute card Savanna got for him. (A Mickey Mouse one she picked out herself.) I also put some pictures of her helping make cookies yesterday.

Recent Highlights

So just wanted to tell you a little bit of what we have been up to lately. It seems like life has been busy, busy, busy. TC is working very hard and we are getting ready for the baby and that is on top of the everyday chores and routine of life. We have still managed to have some fun over the past couple weeks though and spend time with friends. Here are some of the highlights.
1. Getting to the temple-Last Saturday TC and I were able to go the temple for initiatories and it was so wonderful to enjoy the spirit there and get away for a bit. We try to go every month but we missed in January so it was nice to get back. Thanks to our friends, Derek and Carly, for watching Savanna for us.
2. Getting our double stroller-Our double stroller came a few weeks ago and we love it. We took it to the mall and Savanna got to try it out. Here are so some pictures of her in it and riding the carousel at the mall.
3. Getting the nursery set up-So the baby's room is pretty much set up. Stay tune for pictures. We are doing an airplane theme and it is really cute. We got airplane theme bedding, a cute lamp, mobile, and an airplane which hangs from the ceiling. The ceiling also has blue and white clouds on it with glow in the dark stars which matches our theme perfectedly. (The previous owners painted that not us.) It was quite a project to get that room cleaned out since it had a lot of our extra junk in it but we did it. Phew.
4. Friend's birthday party-We were able to go to a little birthday party for one of Savanna's friends and had a great time. The theme of the party was "It's a Bug's Life" and Savanna came home with cute little antennaes and a bucket of candy. Here is a picture of her playing.
5. Going to see Fiddler on the Roof-This past Saturday TC and I went to see "Fiddler on the Roof" with some of our good friends, Jeremy and Tiffany, and we had a great time! I love plays and we haven't been to a play in so long. It was great. Unfortunately, I meant to take a picture but I forgot my camera. Thanks April for watching Savanna for us! Apparently since I left my camera at April grabbed it and took some fun pictures of Savanna playing at her house.
I hope you all had a good February! I can't wait for it to get warmer. It can't be too much longer right?

Funny/sweet things Savanna has said lately

So I have decided that I need to be better about writing the funny things Savanna says down so I remember them. I wrote a few in my journal last week but thought they would be fun to share. So enjoy! 1. Savanna was jumping on me and hurt my leg so she said, "Nana kiss it better". She rolled up my pant leg and kissed it. Then she turned around and stuck her bum in my face and said, "Mommy kiss Nana's bum better." I just laughed and kissed my hand and put in on her bum. 2. Savanna loves the temple! She always wants to see it and I will drive her by it sometimes. The other day I asked her, "You love the temple don't you?" She said, "Yes, hug temple." I said "Oh it is cold now, maybe when it is warmer we can take a walk and you can hug the temple." So now she says, "When it is warmer hug temple" 3. The other day she wanted to buy something and I said "Don't you know that everything costs money?" She said, "Yeah, Daddy has the money." I said, "Where does Daddy get the money?" She said, "From Mommy's room." 4. The other day at TC's sister's house Savanna was pouting on the steps about something. TC asked her, "What's wrong Savanna? Are you sad?" She said, "Yes." TC then asked her "Why are you sad?" She proceeded to tell him, "Back off Daddy." 5. The other day we were driving home from somewhere and she said, "Daddy come home? Love him so much!" 6. I will ask her sometime, "Who is your best friend?" She will usually reply: Mommy, Daddy, April (TC's sister)

Valentine's Day Weekend

So Happy Late Valentine's Day! I hope you all had a good day. I have to confess that Valentine's Day is my least favorite holiday. I just find that we shouldn't need a day to tell others that we love them and it's so commercialized (though I guess that is true about every holiday-it just seems more annoying at Valentine's Day). It always seems to make single people depressed which doesn't seem like fun. I mean not having a date on Valentine's Day is like the kiss of relationship death right? Whatever! We all should probably try to remember that love involves all different types including that of friends, children, etc. Anyway, Valentine's Day has grown on me a bit and TC knows that he still has to do something nice for me even though I complain about the holiday! So Friday night we went out as a family to a cafe close by here that was doing a Valentine's Day deal. Then Saturday night my brother, Spenser, came up and watched Savanna and we went to a stake Valentine's Day dinner/play the WII. It was a lot of fun. There were Wii's in almost every room. Then Sunday we just went to church, exchanged gifts, and hung out. It was a nice relaxing day. Oh I forgot to mention that our ward spilt! Apparently it is the fourth time it has happened in its history. So we are now in a new ward. They created a whole new ward from members of our ward and another ward. We were released from our callings and have not received new callings yet though they did ask us to sub in Sunbeams two Sundays in a row...

Savanna Update

So I realized that it's been a little bit since I've updated about our sweet little girl. Savanna is doing well and getting older everyday. I was reflecting on her today-her personality, her likes, dislikes, etc and thought I would write them down. This blog is like a journal for me so feel free to skim down to the pictures if you like or read and enjoy!
Savanna's personality traits
1. Savanna is very verbal and loves to talk. She expresses herself well and likes to tell us what is on her mind.
2. Savanna is very physically and verbally affectionate to those she loves. She loves to sit on laps and signs and says "I love you" often. She will frequently give TC and I hugs and even has nickmanes for us: TC's is Dijo and mine is "Mimi". (She does not use these all the time for us just when she is in a silly/lovey dovey mood). She will often grab my face in her hands, look in my eyes and say, "MaMa Mimi" several times and then give me a kiss. It melts my heart!
3. Savanna is very interactive with adults she loves aka: TC and I, her aunts and uncles, and grandparents but not so much with children her age. (We are working on that. She is around children her age a lot but either ignores them or tells them that what she is playing with is "Mine!" She loves to be played with and loves attention. Whatever she is doing she wants someone to do with her though she has gotten a bit better about enetertaining herself than she used to be.
4. Savanna is shy when you first meet her. She will warm up to adults quite quickly in smaller groups but in larger groups she is more timid. In large groups of children, she is often the most quiet or timid one.
5. Savanna is very focused for a two year old. Although she is definetely active, she can sit and color for awhile or work on her puzzles. She also has no problem sitting through story time or our other classes and sitting and watching a video for a bit.
Savanna's Current Favorite Things
1. Princesses particulary Ariel! She loves Ariel! She has a princess book and reads it all the time and colors in her princess coloring book. My mom also just sent her an Ariel bath doll and she would not put it down for the first several hours she had it. She couldn't wait to take a bath so she could play with her in the tub! Though if you ask her if she is a princess or anyone else she will say no. Princesess are limited to:Ariel,Cinderlla, Belle and all the other Disney princesses.
2. Dogs-I don't think this will every change. She loves seeing her Aunt April's dog and will spot a dog wherever we go.
3. Books-Savanna is really loving reading books. She will sit and read book after book and loves to have a couple of books when she goes to bed at night.
4. Babies/Stuffed Animals: Her baby and her stuffed animals have become her best friends! She changes their diapers and they frequently eat breakfast with us in the morning or snacks in the afternoon.
5. Jumping-Savanna loves to jump all over the place. It is really cute.
6. The Temple!-I can't believe I almost forgot this one. Savanna always notices the temple when we are driving and talks about how pretty it is. We often will drive closer to it on our way home and she talks about how it is Jesus's house. Precious!
7. Shopping-You know how I said Savanna can sit for awhile and is not super hyper? Well this all goes out the window when we go shopping. She actually is really good in the grocery store but any type of clothing store or anything else she loves to run around. She gets so excited and wants to get out. She tries things on and tells me, "Mommy cute. Mommy buy it!" We have to constantly remind her to stay close to us or she ends up back in the cart (which often happens by the end of the trip).
8. Savanna sings all the time and it's adorable to listen to her. She often sings herself to sleep. Her favortie songs right now seem to be: 1. Snowman 2. Wheels on the Bus 3. God Bless America 4. Give said the Little String 5. ABC's
Savanna's Recent Accomplishments
1. Savanna knows all her colors!
2. Savanna can count to 10(sometimes she counts to eleven and sometimes she leaves out 4 and 5) but mostly she can do it.
3. Savanna is starting to identify some letters mostly the ones in her, TC's and I's name.
We love our little girl! Here are some fun pictures of her over this past month. (Finally got a camera! Thanks to TC's mom for sending an extra they weren't using!
Yes she is wearing my nylons and a Christmas bib-silly girl!

Pregnancy kills brain cells-seriously it does!

"Research shows that pregnant women experience forgetfulness 15 percent more than nonpregnant women. Memory returns after delivery."-Baby Center This statement is very true though I am still wondering about the memory returning after delivery...When Savanna was 6 weeks old I went to get us dinner at the drive through at Kneaders. I paid for the food and then drove away while they were getting my food for me. The worst part was I didn't realize that I haven't gotten the food until I got home and TC asked me, "Where is our food?" I did have this funny feeling the whole time that I was forgetting something but just couldn't think of what it was! It was quite embarassing to have to go back and get our food but they just smiled politely and gave it to me. I'm sure they all got a good laugh. Today seems to be one of those brain fart days. Today as I was putting Savanna down for a nap I realized that:I don't have a bra on! Yes, I realized this hours after getting dressed, going to story time at the library, and picking up some treats for Enrichment tonight at Wal Mart. Great! I looked at Savanna and told her and she just laughed! Then I got a phone call from the library telling me someone turned in my library card because I left it in the slot when checking out and I can come pick it up within the next 30 days. (this is like the second or third time I've done this mind you). Then I go to put some salsa chicken in the crock pot for dinner to realize that I am missing the main ingredient:the SALSA! Yes, this is after I went to Wal Mart earlier. Oh and I also managed to spill juice all over the counter at lunch and knocked over several other things. I guess pregnancy makes you more clumsy too. I hope that Baby Center quote is true. Please come back brain! I need you!
